One Call. A Lot of Possibilities.
This page answers one question: can Matt do your project? Below is the honest version — the work he does regularly and does well. It is not a promise to do everything.
If I'm Not the Right Guy, I'll Tell You.
If I can do it, I'll tell you. If I can't, I'll tell you that too. And if I know somebody better for the job, I'll point you in the right direction.
His favorite work
Tile & Finish Work
Tile is unforgiving. It is flat or it is not. The grout lines line up or they do not. Cuts around a valve, a niche, an outlet or an outside corner are where you can see, years later, whether somebody took their time.
That is most of the reason Matt likes it. Eight years in marble and granite fabrication taught him how stone and tile actually behave — how it cuts, where it wants to crack, what a substrate has to do before anything gets set on it.
- Tub and shower surrounds
- Kitchen backsplashes
- Floor tile, including large format
- Recessed niches and shelves
- Repairing and re-grouting existing tile

Repairs & Improvements
A lot of this work is correction. Something was installed by somebody in a hurry, or was never finished, or has quietly been failing behind a wall for a couple of years.
Matt would rather tell you what actually went wrong than paper over it and hand you a bill.
- Drywall repair and patching
- Doors that stick, sag or will not latch
- Water damage repair
- Correcting a previous contractor’s work

Service
Fixtures & Installations
Swapping a fixture is a small job that goes badly surprisingly often: a fan wobbles because it was never blocked, a heavy mirror comes off the wall because it went into drywall instead of framing.
- Ceiling fans and light fixtures
- Bathroom hardware and accessories
- TV and shelf mounting
- Cabinet hardware
Scope: Scope of electrical, plumbing and HVAC work is limited to what Matt is licensed and permitted to perform. If a job needs a licensed trade, he will say so and point you to one.

Service
Flooring
Most flooring complaints are subfloor complaints. If the floor underneath is not flat and sound, the finished floor telegraphs every bit of it — and no amount of good product fixes that after the fact.
- Luxury vinyl plank and laminate
- Tile plank flooring
- Subfloor prep and leveling
- Transitions, thresholds and quarter round

Service
Trim & Finish Carpentry
Sometimes the difference between unfinished and finished is not a remodel. It is someone caring enough to finish the last five percent.
Miters that close. Returns on the ends. Caulk and fill where it belongs, and nowhere it does not.
- Baseboard, casing and crown
- Window and door trim
- Closing out a room a builder left unfinished
- Matching existing profiles
Service
Cabinets & Interior Improvements
Cabinet setting was a standing part of the stone and countertop work — a counter template is only as good as the boxes underneath it, so the boxes have to be right.
- Cabinet installation and replacement
- Reworking an existing cabinet run
- Shelving and built-ins
- Basement and interior build-outs

Punch Lists & Problem Solving
The list on the refrigerator. The eleven small things that have each been waiting nine months because none of them is worth calling somebody out for on its own.
Together they are a day, maybe two. This is one of the genuinely good reasons to hire somebody who does a lot of different things well.
- The accumulated small-repair list
- Move-in and move-out fixes
- Getting a room over the finish line
- Figuring out why something keeps failing
Not Sure Which One You Need?
That's fine — most people aren't. Describe the problem in plain words and Matt will tell you what it actually is.
Got Something That Needs Done?
Tell him what it is. If he can do it, he will tell you. If he cannot, he will tell you that too.
